madrid barajas airport guideIn this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

If you are an economy class traveller, you can enter these lounges at Madrid Barajas airport either by purchasing a lounge pass or through a membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details (ie. facilities, hours, pass and membership information):

  • - Location: Terminal 1, Airside, P2, non-Schengen flights, between Gates B26 and 29. Hours: open 24 hours. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (€29.70) • Buy a lounge pass (£26 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • - Location: Terminal 2, Airside, P2, domestic and Schengen flights, near Gate D62. Hours: 5:00AM - 11:00PM. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (€28.70) • Buy a lounge pass (£26 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • - Location: Terminal 3, Airside, P2, domestic & Schengen flights, near Gate E69. Hours: 5:00AM - 11:00PM. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (€28.70) • Buy a lounge pass (£26 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • - Location: Terminal 4, Satellite, Airside, Non-Schegen area, 2nd Floor. Showers are available. Hours: open 24 hours. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (€29.70) • Buy a lounge pass (£26 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • - Location: Terminal 4, Airside, 1st Floor. Hours: 5:00AM - 10:00PM. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (€28.70) • Buy a lounge pass (£26 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • Free unlimited WiFi is available at Madrid Barajas Airport. Connect to the "kubiwireless" network. (SSID: Airport_Free_Wifi_AENA). Additionally, there are internet access points located throughout the Terminals. Some of these have printers and free mobile chargers.

    If sleeping in Madrid Barajas Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotels inside and near the airport. Most hotels are located near Terminals 1 and 2, so if you are flying in or out of Terminal 4 travel times will be longer.

  • - There are 22 rooms located inside Terminal 4 on Floor 1 (landside). Rooms can be booked for day use (3-6 hours) between the hours 10:00AM - 6:00PM or overnight. Showers are available. A shower kit consisting of a towel, gel and and slippers are provided.
  • - Free airport shuttle.
  • - Free airport shuttle runs 24-hour all year round. There is a sign posted outside of each terminal that says “BUSES HOTEL”. This hotel shares an airport shuttle with Melia Barajas Hotel. Call 917 477 700 for airport pick-up on demand.
  • - Free airport shuttle runs 24-hour all year round. There is a sign posted outside of each terminal that says “BUSES HOTEL”. This hotel shares an airport shuttle with TRYP Madrid Alameda Aeropuerto Hotel. Call 917 477 700 for airport pick-up on demand.
  • - Free airport shuttle departs hourly on the hour and stops outside of Arrivals at Terminals 1, 2, and 4. This hotel shares a shuttle bus with taCH Hotel. Shuttle does not run from 1:00AM to 4:00AM.
  • - Free airport shuttle departs hourly on the hour and stops outside of Arrivals at Terminals 1, 2, and 4. This hotel shares a shuttle bus with Clement Barajas Hotel. Shuttle does not run from 1:00AM to 4:00AM.
  • - Free airport shuttle from 6:00AM to Midnight.

  • ATMs / Cash Machines - Available landside and airside in Terminals 1, 2 and 4.
  • Baby Care Facilities -
  • Changing table, microwave, cot, play area (for kids up to 6 years old), comfortable seating and more are available in the Breastfeeding Lounge. Locations: T2, airside, Boarding Area D, 1st Floor (Hours: 8:00AM - 8:00PM) • T4, airside, Boarding Area, 1st Floor (Hours: 8:00AM - 8:00PM.
  • Strollers are available for use in the airport, free of charge, in all terminals. You can pick one up at one of these locations: T1, 1st Floor, Boarding Areas B or C • T2, 1st Floor, Boarding Area C • T4, 1st Floor, Boarding Area • T4S, 1st Floor, Boarding Area. Some luggage trolleys are retrofitted with infant carriers for babies up to 6 months. They are available for use at all terminals, free of charge.
  • Business Centre - Location: Terminal 4, P2. Hours: 8:00AM - 8:00PM.

  • Children's Play Areas - There is a playground located in Terminal 2, airside, Boarding Area D, 1st Floor. Hours: 8:00AM - 8:00PM. Additionally, there are 18 other play areas located near the boarding gates in all terminals.
  • Currency Exchange - Currency exchange offices throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. These are open 24 hours: Exact Change (T1, Baggage Reclaim Hall 1) • Global Exchange (T4, landside, Check-In, 2nd Floor - two offices) • Global Exchange (T4S, airside, Boarding Area, 1st Floor) • (T1, Baggage Reclaim Hall 1).
